FAQ
Most spaces take between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the size and complexity of the area. A typical single-story home or one floor of a commercial building usually takes about an hour.
You'll receive a hosted Matterport link you can open on any device — phone, tablet, or computer. From there you can walk through the space virtually, take measurements, and share the link with anyone on your team. No special software needed.
Yes. Every scan includes built-in measurement tools. You can measure distances, room dimensions, and clearances directly inside the 3D model from any device.
Absolutely. Each scan comes with a shareable link. Anyone you send it to can view the scan in their browser — no account or download required.
The most valuable time to scan is right before drywall goes up — after rough-ins for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and framing are complete. This gives you a permanent record of what's behind the walls. That said, scans are useful at any phase.
We use the Matterport Pro 3, a professional-grade LiDAR camera with an accuracy of ±20mm at 10 meters — that's less than an inch of variance over about 33 feet. The result is a dimensionally precise digital twin you can confidently measure from, whether you're checking a rough opening, verifying clearances, or pulling dimensions for a change order.
We can absolutely scan active and occupied jobsites, but for the best results, here are a few things that help:
-
Clear walkways so the camera can move through the space freely
-
Turn on all available lighting (the more light, the better the image quality)
-
Remove or relocate large temporary items like ladders, tool carts, and material stacks if possible
-
Let your crew know we'll be on-site so we can move through efficiently
-
If scanning for behind-the-wall documentation, make sure rough-ins are complete before drywall goes up
Ideally, the cleanest scans happen when we have the site to ourselves, but we work around active crews all the time. Just give us a heads-up on scheduling and we'll make it work.
Your scans are hosted online and accessible anytime through the link we provide. There's no expiration — you can revisit them months or years later. We also keep backups on our end.
